Our Story

Making disciples who will make disciples who will make disciples and so on.

Heart of the City Church – Honduras was founded in 2016 by Don & Deborah Lynn together with Heart of the City Church in Coeur D Alene, Idaho. Over several years and several mission trip to San Pedro Sula, Honduras and other areas in the country God brought together to vision for the church plant. It was through these different trips in partnering with Joy to the Nations and Heart of the City Church that Pastors Don & Deborah along with Benaiah Cheevers and Emily Burke were sent out in October 2016 to attend language school at the Honduran Spanish Institute for six months before launching the church in May of 2017.

Since moving to Honduras God has shaped the church plant into a unique hybrid of church, missions, and partnering with various missionaries & ministries in the work they are doing on behalf of the Kingdom of God. Upon completion of language school in April 2017, the church plant team geared up for launching the church. Heart of the City Church – Honduras held its first service in May 2017 while also hosting its first missions team from Coeur D Alene. During that time the church also took on a ministry in a small village outside of the city of El Progreso (about an hour away from San Pedro Sula) where they have consistently held a Bible institute for the village pastors and other community members.
